Privacy Policy
LazyMemo is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. It has no server component. This policy describes what the application does with your data, which is: keep it on your machine.
What we collect
Nothing. The developer receives no personal data from the application. There is no account system, no sign-in, no license activation, no analytics and no crash reporting built into LazyMemo.
What the app stores, and where
-
Your memos, reminder times and imported text are
stored in a SQLite database file inside your Windows user profile
(
%APPDATA%). - Images you drop or paste in are processed on your device and stored locally alongside the memo they belong to.
- Settings (theme, language, launch-at-startup) are stored locally in the same location.
You can copy, back up or delete this data yourself at any time. Uninstalling the application removes it, and deleting a memo in the app deletes it from the database.
Text recognition (OCR)
Optical character recognition runs locally using bundled Tesseract language data for English and Simplified Chinese. Images are never uploaded to any service for processing. The app functions with no network connection.
Network access
LazyMemo does not require internet access to perform its core functions. If a future version adds an optional feature that needs the network, it will be off by default and clearly labelled, and this policy will be updated before that version ships.
Notifications
Reminders use the native Windows notification system. The notification text is generated on your device and passed to Windows; it is not sent anywhere else.
Distribution through the Microsoft Store
The app is distributed via the Microsoft Store. Microsoft collects its own data about downloads and installs under Microsoft's privacy statement, which is outside the developer's control and not shared with the developer in any personally identifiable form.
This website
This site is a static page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. If cookie-free aggregate analytics are enabled, they record page views without cookies and without any information that identifies you as an individual. Cloudflare processes standard server request logs as part of delivering the site.
Children
LazyMemo is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
